Bmx More proof that women are perfectly willing to risk their necks pursuing athletic glory: Jill Kintner, 26, has earned a place on the US Olympic BMX team. Kintner is thus far the only American female BMX-er with a guaranteed ticket to Beijing.
Kintner, a three time Mountaincross world champion, declined surgery for a ruptured ACL in order to keep competing. She finally had the surgery just weeks before the final BMX qualifying race in China this weekend, but pushed through the pain for the win.
We'll certainly keep our eyes on her this August.
